HOW DOES LASER TREATMENT FOR SPIDER VEIN REMOVAL WORK?
The wavelength of light we use to treat spider veins targets the lining of the blood vessel. This creates inflammation of the lining that causes the sides of the vessel to stick together. Then, blood can no longer flow through the vessel, and it shuts down. Your body then sees it as non-functional and absorbs it.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED TO REMOVE MY SPIDER VEINS?
Some vessels will be gone with one treatment. Others will require a second or third treatment.
HOW LONG IS RECOVERY AFTER SPIDER VEIN REMOVAL?
For a period of 72 hours after treatment, we will ask you not to do anything that will push blood back through the vessel that has been shut down. During that initial recovery period, you should avoid:
- Exercise
- Alcohol
- Spicy food
After those 72 hours have passed, you may resume normal activities.
